We are seeking a dynamic Technical Lead with a robust background in software development and a passion for geospatial technology. You excel in leadership, enjoy mentoring, and thrive in a hands-on role driving innovation and delivering high-impact solutions. Your expertise in architecting scalable systems and aligning technical strategies with business objectives will be central to our mission.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor an engineering and development team, actively contributing to coding, architecture, and design.
- Drive innovation by exploring and integrating new technologies to enhance geospatial solutions.
- Develop and improve user interfaces for geospatial applications.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to align project requirements with scalable, future-proof technical solutions.
- Ensure technical excellence through code reviews, testing practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Implement modern application security practices and data security standards.
- Manage resource allocation and timelines in a hands-on, agile development environment.
- Work closely with company leadership to align technical strategies with business goals, focusing on modular geospatial solutions for global integration.
Must-Have Qualifications- Experience: 5+ years in professional software development, ideally in geospatial or data-centric environments.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams in a hands-on role.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and GIS tools (e.g., Mapbox, QGIS, PostGIS).
- Architecture: Experience in designing scalable solutions for mapping or location-based services.
- Cloud and Security: Proficiency in deploying, managing, and securing cloud-based applications (Azure/AWS/GCP).
- Testing: Familiarity with testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha.
- Methodologies: Knowledge of Scrum or similar agile methodologies.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications- Familiarity with geospatial libraries such as Mapbox GL, MapLibre GL, Leaflet JS, or OpenLayers.
- Understanding of spatial data concepts, including vector/raster tiling and handling large datasets.
